If I went to college but didn't graduate, does it look bad to mention it on a job application?

A few years ago I went to college for 1 semester, but I never finished it or earned a degree. Should I mention that I attended college on job applications? I don't know if it looks better to say I have any college experience at all, or if it looks worse than having none at all since I didn't finish it. Any advice?
