Whats with all the labeling these days?

i dont understand. i was reading questions earlier and one was about emos and this girl called the person a *poser*. cant anyone dress the way they want anymore? so if i dont listen to hardcore screamo i cant dye my hair dark or shop at hot topic? and i cant but anything at pacsun unless i skate or surf? wtf is up with young society?
