Fundraiser ideas for animal rescue?

My vet rescues dogs & cats from our local pound right before it's time to euthanize and fixes them and gets them healthy.. on heartworm preventative.. utd on shots, etc. Then me and a few of the girls at the vet foster the dogs until we find them homes and the cats are kept at the vet. They are doing such wonderful things but they're running out of funds and I want to help them make some money.. a while back we did a raffle but it only made like $50 :-P I thought about doing a yard sale and getting people to donate things?? We live in kind of a small town where its hard to make much doing stuff like this.. any good ideas?
